How to use this ROI tracker
Build a complete betting record
Enter a clear ticket description, the rand stake and accepted decimal odds, then add the bet. Include enough detail to distinguish similar selections, such as the fixture and market. Newly added entries remain pending until you mark a win or loss. Update them from the actual settlement rather than from an early score or an expected result.
Illustrative returns and profit
Consider two hypothetical wagers: R100 at 2.50 that wins, and R100 on another selection that loses. The winning ticket returns R250 including its original stake, so its net profit is R150. Subtract the R100 lost on the second ticket to get R50 overall profit. Across R200 settled stakes, ROI = profit / total staked × 100 = R50 / R200 × 100 = 25%. This is an arithmetic example, not a prediction of attainable performance.
Understand the dashboard totals
Total staked includes the amounts entered on pending tickets, while the ROI calculation uses completed stakes only. Until outstanding bets settle, these figures therefore describe different parts of your record. Win rate counts winning completed tickets rather than measuring their profitability. A high win rate can coexist with losses when short-priced wins fail to cover larger losing stakes.
Avoid misleading comparisons
Log losing wagers as carefully as winning ones. Do not count a wallet deposit as profit or a withdrawal as a losing bet. Compare periods with similar coverage, and keep a separate note of any charges that affect your real balance. This simple win-or-loss tracker does not provide a dedicated settlement for voids, partial cash-outs or each-way components; keep those details elsewhere rather than forcing an inaccurate result.
Where are my entries kept?
Records are saved in this browser’s local storage. Clearing site storage or switching devices may leave you without the same history. Maintain your own copy if you need an ongoing account of spending.
Does positive ROI justify higher stakes?
A short run can be heavily influenced by one result. Review the amount exposed, the number of settled tickets and the time period before drawing conclusions. Set a separate spending cap in rand and keep it unchanged during a session. If tracking starts to encourage recovery bets, pause rather than extending the budget.
